XMMA 5: SOUTHERN HEAT FIGHT CARD ANNOUNCED

(July 14, 2022) XMMA returns to the great state of South Carolina, when it heads to Columbia on July 23rd. The XMMA 5: Southern Heat card is catching fire with more than a dozen fights which will all take place at Colonial Life Arena.

XMMA’s fifth event is stacked from top to bottom with former world champions, ex-UFC fighters and the sport’s hottest prospects.

In the headliner, former Bellator Lightweight Champion ‘Ill’ Will Brooks takes on fellow UFC veteran Luis Pena.

Brooks is no stranger to the XMMA cage. In his XMMA debut, he defeated Steve Siler by unanimous decision. Since then, he has racked up two finishes, most recently breaking the leg of his last opponent in 17 seconds.

Stepping onto a new canvas, ‘Violent Bob Ross’ will look to paint two wins in a row since his UFC departure. In his most recent outing, Pena would put on the pressure to secure a first round TKO win over a 50-fight veteran.

In the co-main event spotlight, Jared Gooden returns under the XMMA banner against Impa Kasanganay.

‘Nitetrain’ derailed Curtis Millender at XMMA 4 in April, where he picked up a TKO in round 2. With a win here, the former UFC fighter will extend his win streak to 3.

Kasanganay, still signed with Khabib Nurmagomedov’s Eagle FC, has been given permission to fight at XMMA 5. The UFC veteran will try to get back to winning ways when meets Gooden.

Also on the card, lies a fighter whose sole purpose is to bang. We’re talking about no other than Julian Lane. The bare-knuckle star returns to MMA against former UFC fighter Austin Hubbard in a catchweight clash (165lbs).

XMMA 5 is heating up to be a good one.
